About Alzheimers

Resources

Is someone you love suffering under the effects of Alzheimers? This disease causes memory problems and can interfere with a person's ability to think clearly. It is a form of dementia. Most people with Alzheimers are over the age of 65, but it can affect younger people as well. It is possible for people in their 40s or 50s to get something called early onset Alzheimers.

Alzheimers is not a static diagnosis. It is a progressive disease which means that patients with alzheimers continue to get worse over time. It generally starts with mild memory loss but can progress to the point where a patient loses their ability to perform even simple tasks that are necessary to stay alive.

There is no cure for Alzheimers but there are a number of treatments that can help to slow down the progression of the disease. We can highly recommend the information at alz.org for anyone who is looking for more information on treatment possibilities for Alzheimers patients.
